On Friday June 20th at 0835 hrs, WPD and WFD responded to a one car MV crash on Nokomis Rd. Upon arrival, officers observed an unresponsive elderly driver slumped over the steering wheel of a 2004 Honda Civic.
WFD arrived within seconds of WPD, and conducted life saving measures to the operator. The operator was subsequently identified as Thomas J O'Neil, 81 of Wilbraham. Mr O'Neil was transported to Baystate Medical Center. Upon arrival at Baystate Medical Center, Mr O'Neil was deceased.
Ptl John Siniscalchi is conducting a crash reconstruction of the incident. It appears that a medical issue may be the cause of the crash.
